Required Supplies: - Thread - bring machine quilting thread in an assortment of colors if you can –You don’t need to buy a lot of thread for this class – but having some color variety will make room for FUN and seeing the texture magic happen. Christina's dream would be 10-color palette for you: light grey, medium grey, soft pink, beige, light blue, light blue-green, light brown, dark brown, medium or dark purple, lavender. Don’t feel pressured to overspend here! Christina recommends Aurifil or Wonderfil Konfetti thread. - Quilting gloves (or your preferred alternative) - Curved basting pins to baste your pieces, or your preferred basting tool. Any spray basting must take place outside, (not in class, and not in the hallway). - Shears and small scissors/snips - shared scissors will be provided but you may wish to have your own to maximize class time - Notebook and pen for sketching (the larger the notebook the better) - Class fee ($20) – This is for your printed panels. Christina can accept cash or credit card. - 4 pieces of batting 16 x 22” each - 4 pieces of muslin or waste fabric, for backing 16 x 22” each - A quilt sandwich for warm-up/practice – about fat quarter sized (18” x 20”) – this should have solid fabric or muslin on top, batting in the middle and muslin or waste fabric on the back. Don’t stress you just need something to stitch on for times we’re not using the panels. You can pin baste this before class.
Optional Supplies: - Temporary fabric marker, fabric pen or fabric pencil - Cushion. Sometimes quilters need to sit up a little higher for comfortable free-motion quilting. Christina recommends having a firm cushion (or a folded up quilt!) to sit on, if you would like that option.
