Recently, I’ve enjoyed spending time focusing on hand dyed color studies. As a result, I often have small cuts of many related hues in a color palette. Pebbles is created from hand dyed fabric remnants from these studies, cut into ovals and pieced into the background - like fabric swiss cheese! To complement the variety of fabrics, I quilted an 1/8th inch grid with various colors, resulting in a subtle hue shift with each thread.
