This improv study explores light shattering the weight of darkness. I started with a sawtooth star, cut it in half and inserted a strip of background fabric. I repeated this process to make the star appear shattered. I used yellow to capture the steady and manic energies that can accompany the light. What started as a “perfect” block became an imperfect but authentic interpretation of how it feels when light finally pierces through the dark.
