This is a potholder quilt. Each quilter in a group makes a mini-quilt that's pieced, sandwiched, quilted, and bound. These little quilts are then hand whip-stitched together. I invited 15 quilters, comfortable with improv and hand quilting, to make a 6” X 6", hand-quilted block, and a 6” X 12” improv-pieced and hand-quilted block. Using the wrong side of a stripe, I bound each block, hand stitch them together, and add quilted wedges to the sides.
