The inspiration for this pattern was the names of fabric colors themselves. The 2 fabrics that make up the background stripes in this are Rain Cloud and Stormy, while the brighter and happier colors are Unicorn, Poppy, Turmeric, and Slate. I imagine the brighter colors as bubbles or orbs that are pushing the Stormy stripes away in an effort to bring more lightness and color to the world.
