Zephie was 6 when she started sewing her first quilt. One year later, she completed it at age 7 in second grade. Using an improv style, Zephie placed colorful fabric strips on the design wall to make this composition. Squeezing her sewing time in on weekends, Zephie kept working until she had a patchwork top that was big enough for her to cuddle under. Her next project? A quilt for Tettie, her beloved teddy bear.
