From the "Urban Patchwork" Series, this piece is inspired by walking in Paris and Florence where art is everywhere, even inserted into cracks in the sidewalk. This scrappy mosaic street art and the abstract textile art I make are connected: in both cases, we patch, we make due, and create art out of humble materials. This series is a development of that connection, and our need for art around us, in all its forms.
