Mary K. Fons

Mary specializes in the history of quilts in popular culture. Current director of the Quiltfolk Foundry project, she was editor of Quiltfolk (2017-21) and Quilty (2011-14). She's produced how-to content for TV and the web and her writing on quilts is published in lots of places. She lectures widely and her quilt culture livestream Quilt Nerd, broadcasts weekly on Twitch. She recently gigged as a quilt consultant for Sesame Workshop! That was cool. Mary serves on the board of the International Quilt Museum and AQSG. She has an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
