From three different fabrics: Fabric 1: Cut (x1) 3-1/2" Square (this will be a finished 3” center so you can fussy-cut it if you’d like) Fabric 2: Cut (x1) 4-1/2" square Fabric 3: Cut (x1) 5-1/2" square.
Then, from three different fabrics: Fabric 1: Cut (x3) 4” squares (Or cut x1 from 3 different fabrics) Fabric 2: Cut (x6) 4” squares (Or cut x2 from 3 different fabrics) Fabric 3” Cut (x6) 5” squares (Or cut x2 from 3 different fabrics)
Bring these to class along with your remaining fat quarter fabrics/scraps. All other cutting will be done during the session. See you at QuiltCon!
In this workshop, students will learn the basics of different block construction methods. We will intentionally use a block design that can be made in several ways so that we can learn and review the following Foundation Paper Piecing, Freezer Paper Piecing two ways, and Regular Machine Piecing. Libs will also touch on other piecing methods including English paper piecing and applique, but these will not be taught hands-on during the session. Students will learn hands-on four ways of piecing a quilt block, the benefits of each one, and gauge which ones they enjoy the most. Libs will provide take-home resources for diving deeper into piecing methods. This class is great for new quilters or those new to any of the methods used in class. Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
