Required Supplies: - Strong paper glue stick - Paper scissors - shared scissors will be provided but you may wish to have your own to maximize class time - A5 sketchbook, more than 100grs paper, minimum of 20 pages. (Example: https://a.co/d/f5w1aHn ) - Craft knife and metallic ruler (you will use it to cut paper) example: https://a.co/d/2YxBskb - Pencil for taking notes
Optional Supplies: - Small personal cutting mat, shared cutting mats will be provided but you may wish to have your own to maximize class time - You can bring an assortment of different papers in different colors, values and saturations. Carolina will have a complete assortment of papers for you to use and create the different exercises. If you prefer to use these papers please bring $5 cash to the workshop for a materials fee. This will give you the possibility to use any of the colored papers that Carolina will bring.
This is a workshop for quilters who want to explore the magical effects of color in their creations. Through fun paper exercises, participants will learn how different colors work together to create vibrant and captivating effects. This workshop will inspire quilters to see color in a whole new light. Students will learn by creating small color composition with colored papers the following topics, how to create depth and distance, how to create luminosity using color, and how to create a transparency effect. Carolina will also cover strategies to locate color in their compositions, understanding which colors recedes and advance, and how to create balance and contrast or a focal point in a composition. This is a no-sew workshop.
