Required Supplies: - 1/3yd each of Black and White fabric - Fat ¼ each of Fabric A (Pink) and Fabric C (Teal) - Fat 1/8th each of Fabric B (Blue) and Fabric D (Coral) - Binding Clips - General sewing supplies (seam ripper, small scissors) - Pattern Kit (payable in cash on day)
The below items will be provided in the workshop room to share amongst students but it is highly recommended students bring their own to maximize class time: - Small Personal Cutting Mat - Small Personal Rotary Blade - Ruler
Optional Supplies: - Add a ¼ Ruler - Seam Roller
Prep Requirements: - From each of the Black and White fabrics cut: 3 strips – 3½in x WOF. Sub cut into 15 – 3½in x 6in rectangles - From fabric A (Pink) cut: 9 – 4¾in squares - From fabric B (Blue) cut: 6 – 4¾in squares - From fabric C (Teal) cut: 9 – 4¾in squares - From fabric D (Coral) cut: 6 – 4¾in squares
This workshop will provide students with essential skills, expert tips, and invaluable tricks to ensure success in mastering the precise technique of Foundation Paper Piecing. With step-by-step guidance, students will use clear, easy-to-follow instructions for understanding fundamental Foundation Paper Piecing skills and reading and working with FPP patterns to create the “Sidewalk FFP Mini Quilt”. Students will build confidence in FPP by overcoming common challenges in this technique and how to troubleshoot common mistakes so that they can successfully achieve and set themselves up for success with future FPP designs. Sewing machines generously provided by event sponsors!
