Many students confide to MJ that they aren’t comfortable selecting colors. She gets it! Josef Albers, the great artist and instructor of the 20th Century once said, “Colors deceive continuously.” No wonder many of us have struggled with color! The key is understanding how colors interact – how they play with one another. Once you know the rules of color interaction, you’ll gain confidence in putting them together in your quilt designs. That's exactly what this lecture is all about. Attendees will learn how to create sparkle with value contrast and how to make quilts glow with saturation contrast. You’ll learn how to create effective transparencies. And finally, MJ will show you how to use the rules of color interaction to change the appearance of a color just by changing its neighboring hue, making one color look like two and vice versa. Join MJ for "Color Play" and let's demystify color!
