In this workshop, we will embark on a creative journey starting with a blank palette of fabric. Students will transform this fabric into a vibrant palette, and will explore how to draw inspiration from photos and art to craft a unique piece of embroidery. Nichole encourages students to bring a mood board, a simple paper collage or a meticulously-created Pinterest board, showcasing your sources of inspiration: colors, artworks and photographs. These mood boards will serve as a visual guide for our embroidery.Students will create a layered embroidery piece that captures the essence of your inspiration. Nichole guide students through various embroidery stitches that will add layers of dimension through both thread and embellishments like beads and sequins. If you are new to embroidery, you will swiftly grasp the basics and soon be stitching with confidence. If you have prior embroidery experience, you can revisit the basics and then dive into the realm of threads, embellishments and techniques that breathe life into your embroidery creations. Get ready to infuse your stitches with newfound inspiration and creativity!
