Required Supplies: Participants will need to bring and know how to use their own laptop or tablet (minimum requirement is a smart phone), a working knowledge of how to use popular web browsers (Chrome, Edge or Firefox preferred).
Optional Supplies: Ideal experience would include having a free ChatGPT account, a free Canva account (or a Pro account), and/or a Microsoft online account. Participants should know how to find apps and games (both free and paid) to download on your device(s), in case you would like to use them during/after the class.
In this workshop, students will take their first steps into the fusion of the latest tech with textile arts. Understanding the AI-quilting relationship begins here! Theresa will start by debunking notions about AI through an interactive introduction. Additionally, Theresa will share a deep dive into how AI applies to quilting, and will discuss art movements influencing modern quilting. Prompt generation and copyright issues will also be reviewed. After discussing color principles, students will get some hands-on experience using AI to design their quilts! Personal laptop or tablet is required for this workshop and students should have a basic understanding on how to use web browsers and apps on their devices. This is a no sew workshop.
