This is an intermediate workshop for pattern designers or makers familiar with Adobe Illustrator or Figma. Students will focus on expanding the quilt block, emphasizing creativity, and technical skills. Explore the art of quilt block design while Taylor provides comprehensive guidance to foster creativity and increase skills. Beginning with an introduction to composition, value, and scale in quilt design, participants will create a basic quilt block using their chosen design software, followed by practice and feedback. Students will also refine their blocks into secondary patterns by adjusting tones or details. Scaling techniques will be discussed as well for larger patterns or medallion quilts. Students will also have a chance to present their patterns and discuss their creative processes. This is a no sew workshop. Students will need to bring laptops with either Adobe Illustrator or Figma ready to use.
