In this beginner-friendly workshop, students learn the reaction process of cyanotype printing and will have the opportunity to create one-of-a-kind creations using just a few simple materials. Known for the mesmerizingly deep blue, cyanotype processing has been around for over 150 years and uses early photographic techniques to "record" the negative space of an object when placed on top. Many artists use cyanotype as a printing technique, but in this workshop, students will learn how to plan and scale their projects to produce printed fabric ready for piecing or whole cloth quilts! by learning tips and tricks to create a continual design. Cyanotype students will leave with a knowledge of the photoreactive processing behind the printing, a helpful document detailing supplies and additional resources, and best of all: printed fabric with their very own designs! This is a no sew workshop.
