This is a block study (my favorite design approach) that plays with the idea of two blocks interacting. A modernized double poppy (block #3131 from Brackman’s Encyclopedia of Quilt Blocks) and an unnamed diamond four patch (block #1223) couldn’t be more different, yet the attraction is real! They meet at the bottom left and quickly dance in graceful circles, with a tiny spark erupting when the dance is complete. Corny, but that was my inspiration.
