This is my version of a flower quilt block designed using primarily curved piecing. The various reds contrast against the turquoise fabric, and the corner stars create a secondary mini block that continues into the border. A subtle color gradation is applied diagonally throughout the design. While not directly inspired by another quilt block, the Poppy Quilt shares some design elements with a traditional block, the Petal Circle in a Square, dating back to 1955.
