Unblocked represents my approach to modern quilt designing, where I have to push myself to colour (mostly) outside the lines. I made it for ‘In Conversation’, a modern quilt exhibition curated by Tara Glastonbury (@stitchandyarn). Conversations with my exhibition partner, Daisy Aschehoug (@warmfolk), helped me to see my creative process more clearly. Daisy also encouraged me to try new things: using fabrics from my stash, tackling raw-edge applique, and not overthinking the colours/layout.
