This quilt is made from out-of-date swatch books gathered from tailoring houses. Having such small quantities of each beautiful fabric – just a small square – you have to let it tell you what it wants to be. Suiting wools, as it turns out, want to be sewn on a curve and arranged in a gradient. The holes resulted from a desire for brightness between the squares, and what’s brighter than light itself?
