These words in Justice Sonia Sotomayor's dissent of the Supreme Court's verdict in Trump v. United States struck at the heart of my feelings about the majority's decision in the presidential immunity case.. As of this writing, exactly one week prior to the 2024 presidential election, our democracy has never seemed so fragile. On July 4th of 2024, instead of grilling or otherwise celebrating, I started this project to capture her words in textile.
