This quilt started as a fun geometric exercise, but as it came together my thoughts kept returning to all my friends and family in the LGBTQAI+ community and the ongoing fight for their basic rights to healthcare, safety, marriage equality and more. As I was working each X shape represented another person I love as an individual and this quilt became a reminder to me that we are stronger when we stand and work together.
