First in a series that reflects my journey using strip piecing as a starting point for a new composition, it explores the tension and fluidity of figure and ground. The strip pieced units were first organically cut and assembled into various shapes. Floating on a dark background, the strong contrast with the bright yellow highlights provides further visual texture.
