Improvisational quilting is difficult for me because I think it is necessary to have a "plan". I learned it's fine not to have a plan, you do not always need to know exactly where you are going. Once I begun to cut and piece fabric it all started to work. The next steps followed and determined the plan. This piece was inspired by a week I spent at Penland School of Craft with Annabel Wrigley.
