On December 5th, 2023, Summer's daughter died of a fentanyl overdose. When her friend's son died of a fentanyl overdose on 9/29, she reached out to our quilting bee and found out she wasn't alone. Three out of eleven of us have lost a loved one to fentanyl. This quilt was made to raise awareness of the epidemic that is stealing the lives of people we love. Our hope is to encourage conversation and empathy.
