One mile by two mile blocks define the grid road system on the Canadian prairies. With this quilt I explore the constraints, the variations, and the intersections of this system to create a prairie tapestry. I like how the intersections create a syncopated dance through the piece. The gentle movement of the parallel quilting references the furrows of worked land and the contours of the vast prairies.
